As a former beauty pageant contestant I always felt the obligation to keep myself in shape, for myself and others (especially my husband, who loves telling people the story about me in beauty pageants). I used to do all sorts of crazy diets, you name it... I certainly did it! Unfortunately, as usual, the results did not last long.
I am a 1.8mt tall girl, and my default weight is 76Kgs. However, I like to keep myself between 69 -74kgs and when I am on diets I usually aim for 64Kgs.
Last year, I moved countries, started a new job and also had some issues that led me to depression. From 76Kgs (which is when I usually say "time to go on a diet") I went up to 84Kgs in a period of 6 months. I had never been so big in my entire life. My partner was not happy, my friends could tell the difference, but more importantly, I was not happy.
I wanted to start one of my "crash diets" again but my partner advised me against it. You see, I would always go for the "magic pill" rather than the healthy choice.
Fortunately for me, I have an amazing partner who loves me no matter what, and always looks out for me. He told me about "Health pointe" and convinced me to do it.
To be honest, I was very reluctant to do the diet. Where is the magic pill? Where are the reduced portion meals? Where are all the banned products? I could not understand what the diet was all about, but hey, I still went for it, and I cannot tell you how amazing I feel. I literally eat all the time, I have not felt hungry once, I eat all food groups and more importantly I feel more energetic.
After I finished my last beauty pageant back in 2005, I became "allergic" to water and the gym. Believe me when I tell you that if I ever went to a gym it was to use their toilets. I was not very sporty and I am still finding the love for fitness. However, I am back in the gym "by choice", and I cannot tell you how amazing it makes me feel to go for walks on the mountain, go on the running machine and do Zumba classes twice a week! Also, I can now drink 3lts of water without hesitation.
At the beginning of the program, I lost 3kg during the first week. I thought that it would be difficult to reach 10,000 extra steps a day, but in all honesty, it is not! I thought i was going have a hard time measuring my food and writing down my fat and carb intake. To be honest, what I found very difficult was to reach the amount of fat and carbs required for the day.
I like to take things the extra mile, so rather than doing the normal weight loss program, I did the "fast weight loss program" which is basically less fat intake.
I started my weight loss in June 2016, and finished my first cycle on August 2nd. I lost a total of 12.8Kgs and I cheated at least once a week, except on the two weeks of metabolism adjustment. I am not proud of my cheat days, but I am thankful for the protein days. Let's be honest, in a lot of diets you cheat for a day and you are paying for it the entire week. The fact that the weight gain on a single "cheat day" wears off after a protein day is PRICELESS!
I am thankful for the program and also for my amazing coach. The support and love received by her over the past weeks was truly amazing. She definitely made me work harder and appreciate myself for the commitment and effort I was putting in to reach my goal!
I love going on the scale these days and I always make a big deal for every gram I loose. I feel more energetic and happier than ever before.
I will start cycle 2 very soon and will aim for my weight goal, which is 64Kgs. I am sure I will reach it and when I do, you will be the first one to know!
I definitely recommend this diet to everyone, no matter how much or how little weight you want to lose, you will not regret it.
